Corporate Move Management - Keys to Success
Corporate moves are usually large and complex. They involve many diverse stakeholders. The stakeholders share the common goals of getting into the location on time, within budget and with little or no disruption to the business. However they may not agree on how to accomplish those goals. Understanding what it will take to make the project a successful is half of the battle. Communicating these key points and getting buy-in from senior management is the other part. On the corporate moves managed by TCS, we have found a few obvious and rather simple keys to success. These keys to success must be developed, communicated to the senior management team and a commitment gained to ensure success.
• Senior management support
• Customer requirements defined
• Clear Statement of Work (SOW)
• Project plan, schedule and budget
• Project communications plan for management and employees before, during and after the move
• Regular team meetings with all disciplines and stakeholders involved
• A Help Desk in place on move day to track employee issues and to resolve them immediately
Have I left any off the list? Do you have other feedback from your last successful corporate move? We value you comments and want to hear from you.
Check back next week and see what makes a corporate move so complex.
